As a participant on several mindfulness courses and through my own teacher training, I noticed that there was a shared passion among participants for learning more about mindfulness, but also an appreciation for the natural world, art, good food and gardening. It occurred to me that it might be supportive to have an opportunity to meet up in a virtual space outside organised courses, where access would be free, with no previous experience of meditation necessary.
As a trained mindfulness and compassion teacher I am able to offer guided meditations, and as an avid reader I don’t need much of an excuse to sit down with a good book! With this in mind, both these things came together and we shared good literature and a mindful sitting group.
However, as restrictions lifted and we learnt to live with Covid19, participants were unable to give their free time to reading and participating in the group. Sadly there were not enough regular participants to maintain the group, and although I still hope that this will be a pause rather than an ending, the online meetings are not currently being organised.
Below are the last three books the group shared and I hope you are able to enjoy reading them in your own time.
